Is implementing and upscaling climate solutions in developing countries something you’ve been working on? Do you have a project that aims to strengthen the implementation of climate policies, strategies, regulations and action plans in developing countries? Then you should definitely check out the G-STIC Climate Action Programme.

This programme, launched in 2021, is coordinated by the Government of Flanders and our partner G-STIC, the Global Sustainable Technology & Innovation Community. The aim? Supporting developing countries in their fight against climate change.

For the second project call in 2022, the Government of Flanders is providing €15,88 million in subsidies. These subsidies are meant for climate projects implemented by Flemish organisations in developing countries. Project proposals must be submitted by 9 September 2022.

About G-STIC

G-STIC, the Global Sustainable Technological and Innovation Community, unites sustainability experts from all over the world. Their focus? Accelerating integrated technological solutions to reach the Sustainable Development Goals. At the Love Tomorrow Conference, this crucial topic will get the attention it deserves.

Today, essential health services are out of reach for at least 50% of the world’s population. 2.4 billion people do not have access to adequate sanitation. Some 840 million people remain without access to electricity. Nearly 700 million people do not have access to safe drinking water.

These are clear signs that achieving the SDGs with business-as-usual is just not possible, and that we urgently need to deploy integrated technological solutions at scale. To accelerate that process, it is imperative that companies, social and economic actors and policy makers join forces. G-STIC inspires these parties to work together, think outside the box and create win-win solutions that are good for the economy, for the environment and for the people.

In the past few years, the annual G-STIC conferences have united more than 6000 people from 140 countries around these crucial topics.
